VOICE & SMS

Twilio, wired for real call flows.

Twilio provides programmable phone numbers, voice, and SMS, which makes it the right choice when call flows need to be fully customisable rather than fitting a platform’s built-in phone system. In the US, reliable business SMS requires A2P 10DLC brand and campaign registration.

WHAT WE CONNECT

What actually moves.

Scope depends on the systems already in place. These are the connections that usually matter most.

  • 01

Business numbers with custom routing, IVR, and voicemail behaviour

  • 02

    Missed-call detection feeding automated text-back

  • 03

Call recording and transcription where disclosed and permitted

  • 04

SMS conversations logged against the CRM contact record

  • 05

Call outcome and source data into reporting

Where this usually breaks.

Specific to Twilio, and worth checking whether or not we do the work.

  • A2P 10DLC registration incomplete, so SMS is filtered or blocked by carriers

  • Recording enabled without the disclosure that consent requires

  • No fallback route, so a webhook failure drops the call entirely

  • Numbers provisioned under a personal account and later needing migration

Common questions.

Why are my business texts not being delivered?

Almost always A2P 10DLC registration. US carriers filter unregistered application-to-person traffic aggressively. Registration needs your legal business name and EIN, which is why it is worth forming the entity before registering.

Do I need Twilio if my CRM has a phone system?

Not usually. Platform phone systems are simpler and adequate for standard call handling. Twilio makes sense when you need custom routing, integrations, or portability the platform cannot provide.

Can calls be recorded automatically?

Technically yes, but recording law varies by state and consent requirements differ. Disclosure should be configured before recording is switched on, not after.
